The Painter

Philip Leevers was born in 1943, and graduated from the Royal College of Art in painting in 1965.

After teaching for four years, he changed direction, and worked in pottery, particularly using decorative lustres, and making large decorative plates, usually featuring landscapes. These he showed with the Guild of Designer Craftsmen, and with Casson Gallery and Blackheath Gallery in London.

Later he returned to two dimensional work, and showed landscapes, often of Richmond Park, at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, and other galleries for some years.

Recently the main inspiration has been from moving to Dorset, and, later, working in the Crockerton area.
